In the first quarter of 2020 we celebrated the completion of a second home in the West Atlanta Preservation Initiative with an open house. We now have five homes completed and available for purchase in the Pittsburgh neighborhood. We received approval from Atlanta REALTORS® Association’s Capitus Real Estate Learning Center to begin providing a real estate agent continuing education course.
In March we welcomed three new members to the ALT Board of Directors. Joan Vernon, resident of English Avenue, Tara Mitchell, resident of Washington Park, and Makeisha Robey, resident of Pittsburgh and ALT homeowner, all joined the ALT Board of Directors as neighborhood representatives.
We will be working over the next several months to ensure when this crisis is over that we are positioned to provide permanently affordable housing to support inclusive, equitable communities in Atlanta. In the third quarter of 2019 we closed on the sale of our first home in the Pittsburgh neighborhood; made significant progress on the design and financing of 1091 Tucker Avenue; identified a homebuyer for 885 Smith Street; and completed construction on 1138 Harwell Street. We have also begun outreach efforts in earnest with bimonthly Community Information Sessions and monthly Real Estate Agent Information Sessions.
