Thank you for your support of the Community Land Trust (CLT) Homestead Exemption Referendum which passed with 79% approval on November 3. This property tax exemption for CLT homeowners in the city of Atlanta will make homeownership more affordable for low-income families.

Over the past several months ALT has continued to advance predevelopment activities for its project at 1091 Tucker Avenue in the Oakland City neighborhood. In total, ALT has nearly 125 townhome units in predevelopment throughout the City.

Partnerships with several for-profit developers will result in mixed-income communities that incorporate the community land trust model. Recently, Invest Atlanta approved funding support for a 65-home project in northwest Atlanta.

ALT has five additional homes under development in the Pittsburgh neighborhood. Through a partnership with the Metro Atlanta Land Bank ALT will acquire 14 properties for permanently affordable housing. ALT will host an open house for the first home, located in the Grove Park community, on April 24. The remaining properties will be developed through a partnership with GROWTH by NCRC and will be available for purchase later this year.

Through the support of the community, charitable partners and individual supporters, ALT was able to place eight families into permanently affordable homes in 2020. The stability of permanently affordable housing and access to opportunity has the potential to change the trajectory of these individuals’ lives.
