NPU 50th Anniversary Celebration

On August 13, 1974, the late former Mayor Maynard Jackson signed legislation creating our Neighborhood Planning Unit (NPU) system. On August 13, 2024, we will host a celebration to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the NPU system! This lively event will pay tribute to Atlanta’s rich history of civic participation and the critical role our neighborhoods have had in shaping the city.

Join the festivities as we honor the five decades of community collaboration and neighborhood planning that have forged Atlanta’s essence. The celebration will be catered with a live DJ and interactive activities. There will be opportunities to connect with City leaders, NPU members, and fellow community advocates. Together, we will celebrate the past, embrace the present, and envision the future of Atlanta’s Neighborhood Planning Units.
