ATLANTA – October 10, 2025 – The Atlanta Land Trust, Inc. (ALT), a nonprofit, community-centered developer and steward of permanently affordable housing, offered its congratulations and thanks to Executive Director, Amanda Rhein, on her appointment to the position of Chief Housing Officer with the City of Atlanta.
Rhein has served as Executive Director of the Atlanta Land Trust since 2018. Under her leadership, the Atlanta Land Trust has grown into a nationally recognized organization, with over 200 homes in trust and under development. Rhein oversaw the organization’s inaugural capital campaign, which raised $14 million for 120 affordable townhome units, and generated $1.3 million in operating revenue in 2024. ALT has formalized its stewardship program, which now serves nearly 100 homeowners, supporting them through programming, events and financial support. The ALT team includes seven passionate professionals committed to the mission of the organization.
“Amanda’s vision and dedication have transformed the Atlanta Land Trust into a model for community-led affordable housing,” said the organization’s Board Chair, and Chief Operating Officer of Invest Atlanta, Dawn Arnold. “Her commitment to building strong communities and creating pathways to homeownership has made a lasting difference for countless families in Atlanta. We are excited to continue working with her in her new role and are grateful for the legacy she leaves behind.”
“I am so proud of what we have accomplished together at the Atlanta Land Trust, building a strong organization charged with ensuring Atlanta remains a city for all by providing permanently affordable housing that will benefit generations of Atlantans,” said Rhein.
Rhein will remain with the organization through the end of the year. BoardWalk Consulting has been retained to conduct a national search to identify Rhein’s replacement. The ALT Board is committed to finding a new leader who can build on Rhein’s success and lead the organization’s next chapter.
ALT is currently working with HR&A Advisors to update its strategic plan, which will be completed by year-end. This strategic plan will establish a clear vision for the organization’s future while the leadership search identifies a dynamic leader to implement the ambitious roadmap for continued and diversified growth.
